- Please use common sense and exercise judgment when training, especially during sparring. Use of excessive and/or unnecessary force is not acceptable. Malicious intent to injure your training partners will not be tolerated.
Our attitude is to focus on learning, understanding and improving, while having fun and innovating. Competition and winning is great, but secondary. An egotistical attitude will not last long in this club.
We encourage students to help and learn from each other during training and open mats. However, don’t be that person who teaches everyone else without having been asked their opinion and leave the coaching to the coaches.
You are allowed to say “No” and respectfully decline sparring anyone. No explanation should be required.
If you are injured, we advise that you do not participate in any physical training. However, let the instructors know so that they can attempt to adjust the training accordingly for you (for example, you could be light drilling or participate in Q&A’s). Ultimately, the goal is to be mindful to let your body heal and not make your injuries worse.
